The grand opening event, held on December 1st 2023, showcased the venue’s commitment to providing an unparalleled gaming experience to the people of Middlesbrough and beyond.

State-of-the-Art Gaming

At the heart of The Wired Lobby are its 30+ gaming stations, providing the perfect mix of comfort and technology. Equipped with the latest hardware, Equipped with top-tier hardware, including the RTX 3070 TI and an AMD Ryzen 5800X CPU, and a variety of gaming titles, each PC is designed to cater to both casual gamers and esports professionals. Those who prefer console gaming need not fear, The Wired Lobby has made sure it caters to all gamers, and has a range of consoles to play, including the Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch OLED.

For those who prefer racing, The Wired Lobby also has a collection of professional racing simulators. The racing sims make use of full telemetry data, just like F1 drivers have, providing players with insights on their racing lines, braking zones, gear selection and much more. Additionally, the sim racing set ups are based within full size, true to life touring cars, allowing visitors to get the full experience of driving a touring car on the track for real.

They offer a wide selection of food, including burgers, pizza, and of course, the Middlesbrough classic, parmos. For those looking for an adventurous beverage, The Wired Lobby also features their own unique gaming themed cocktails. Tournaments and Events

Despite having just opened, The Wired Lobby already has promises for exciting events and tournaments in the future. The venue plans to host a variety of gaming events, from LAN tournaments, to themed nights, providing a fantastic opportunity for the local gaming scene to get involved. One event to look out for in particular is their upcoming Call of Duty LAN, in collaboration with Katana Gaming. Fans are in for a treat, with the high-stakes tournament prize pool summing to a grand total of £4000. The event takes place in March, with tickets available to purchase now.

 

Memberships

The Wired Lobby operates using a membership system – visitors must have an active membership if they want to use the venue’s gaming facilities. Luckily, The Wired Lobby offers a few different tiers of membership, each fitting to a different budget. For example, their Basic Desktop Membership allows players to get two hours of desktop gaming for £10. Those who will be visiting the venue far more often may want to try out the Gold Desktop Membership option – for £200 a month, they will receive 40 hours of desktop gaming, as well as credit to purchase F&B or merchandise.
