The Dota 2 Riyadh Masters 2023 tournament, held at the world renowned Gamers8 Festival in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia has concluded. The tournament took place from July 19th to July 30th and featured the best professional Dota 2 teams from around the world, all competing for the colossal prize pool of $15 million.

With the prize pool sitting at a staggering $15million (a third of the festival’s total prize pot) Dota 2 was by far the most prestigious tournament held at the Gamers8 festival. With the winning team taking home a $5million share of the huge prize pot. 

Team Spirit’s Path to the Trophy

Team Spirit made out of their group comfortably finishing second place, with a record of 8 wins and 6 losses. Despite only picking up two wins from a possible seven Team Spirit showed how good they were in the knockout rounds with wins over three of the highest performing teams in the group stages (results: 2-0, 2-1 and 2-1).

In the grand finals, Team Spirit faced off against Team Liquid, a team they had already clashed with in the ‘upper final’ (2-1 Team Spirit win). 

In a thrilling best-of-five series, Team Spirit managed to showcase their dominance by winning 3-1, claiming victory in the Dota 2 Riyadh Masters 2023 Championship. The team’s line-up, consisting of Yatoro, Larl, Collapse, Mira, and Miposhka, delivered exceptional performances that showcased their synergy and prowess.

Champions and Celebrations

 

As the final match concluded, a jubilant atmosphere engulfed the stadium. Team Spirit lifted the championship trophy with pride, earning their place in Dota 2 history as the champions of the Riyadh Masters 2023. Their achievement also granted them a lion’s share of the staggering $15 million prize pool, a testament to their hard work and dedication.

 

Shoutout to all the teams

 

All the teams who took part in the tournament deserve huge praise for putting on an incredible show for the fans. Team Liquid took home a share of $2.5million for finishing second, whilst third place Talon took home $1.7million.
